We exist to empower, guide and connect underrepresented talent.

About us

Research evidenced that the number of students who are the first in their family to attend university was unprecedented, yet faced pre-disposed socioeconomic disadvantages.

Disheartened by the lack of tailored support and guidance, first-class LLB student and Prince’s Trust Young Innovator, Alaya Holloway founded FirstGens on a mission to make higher education accessible and empower students to navigate university and graduate recruitment.

Our focus is to equalise opportunities and break down socioeconomic barriers. We bridge the support gap by equipping students with the skills, knowledge, networks, and cultural capital to hit the ground running and build the foundations to accelerate towards a graduate career.

The Trailblazer Collective

The FirstGens community comprises students who are passionate about social mobility and equalising opportunities. As a collective, we share insight, knowledge and cultural capital that we wish we knew at the beginning of our journey navigating higher education.
